Start with the source in front of you
Enter the product name, dose amount, and unit exactly as they appear on your prescription label or instructions. Units are not interchangeable. Recording β1β without recording whether the label says mg, mL, mcg, or units can make a later conversation harder.
Keep label wording intact instead of paraphrasing it into a new instruction. If the pharmacy provided an exact syringe marking, store that as a quoted instruction and identify its source. The tracker should never calculate one for you.
Record dates and times consistently
Use the scheduled time for what the plan called for and the completed time for what actually occurred. Keeping both makes delayed events visible without rewriting the plan. Add a short factual note when context matters.
- Record entries soon after the event when possible.
- Use the same unit shown in the active plan.
- Correct errors instead of adding contradictory duplicate entries.
- Mark an instructed skip differently from a missed event.
Organize pharmacist instructions
Store prescription-label wording exactly as printed instead of translating it into a different amount. The tracker displays those directions as entered and does not calculate a new volume or syringe marking.
Prepare useful appointment questions
Before a review, look for incomplete details rather than trying to solve them yourself. Ask which instruction controls if a label and a handout differ. Confirm units, timing, storage, expiration, and what the clinician wants you to do after a missed event.
Do not assume what a missed dose means
A missed or delayed entry should not automatically move the next scheduled date or add medication to a later event. Follow the prescription label or contact a pharmacist or clinician. Do not double a dose unless specifically instructed.
Review expiration and beyond-use dates
These dates may refer to different limits. Record both exactly as provided, along with the date a container was opened and its storage instructions. A reminder is a prompt to inspect your information, not permission to use a product past a stated date.
